Fun things to do on a date with pets
Turn up the heat on your go-to pumpkin spiced latte date with these fresh pet friendly date ideas during this fall! Whether your summer fling has lasted another season or you’re planning the perfect first date, here are five date ideas for a day of adventure or for your weekend away. The best part is you don’t have to leave your WingPet at home!
Corn maze
As great pet friendly date ideas you could spend your time getting lost in each other’s eyes. But before you do, spend a fun afternoon getting lost in a corn maze with your WingPet by your side! After finding your way out of the maze, grab a cup of hot cider and pick pumpkins to carve later! Not all corn mazes are pet-friendly, so it’s best to call the farm before heading out.
Kayaking as pet friendly date ideas
A kayaking date is a perfect opportunity to show off your adventurous side. With crisp air and colorful leaves, there is no better time to kayak than the fall! And if you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can even try paddleboarding. Rivers and lakes tend to be less crowded in the fall than in the summertime, providing you and your date with romantic one-on-one time.
Or, grab your WingPet’s life jacket for a pet-friendly adventure. One of my favorite kayaking trips was with my Greyhound, Shiraz, and a group of dog lovers along the Hudson River in New York. Shiraz and I loved the adventure, after figuring out how to get in the kayak. You might even see some WingPets you were expecting to spot on the water!

A date night watching a movie on the big screen is classic. Kick this classic date up a notch by surprising your date with a drive-in movie, complete with your WingPet as your four-legged film buddy. Before enjoying an outdoor flick with your pet, call ahead. Some drive-ins allow your pet to join you on a blanket near your car while others ask that your furry companion remains in the car. Ask where pet-potty facilities are located, and snag a flashlight or headlamp to help you navigate when Fido needs a potty break.
Apple picking
If it’s the smell of apple pie that gets you in the fall spirit, grab your date and your WingPet for an afternoon of apple picking. Not all orchards are pet-friendly, so it’s best to call before going on this date. Whether the orchard is pet-friendly or not, the fun for your pup doesn’t have to stop when you get home. While baking your apple pie, save a few apples for your canine friend and whip up these apple, carrot, and bacon dog biscuits.
Halloween costume shopping or accessorize anytime
Did you know that some clothing stores like Saks are pet-friendly? This rule usually extends to pop-up clothing stores like seasonal Halloween shops, too, though it’s always best to call and ask. Get in the spooky spirit with a date to a costume store. Try on all of the goofiest, sexiest, and scariest costumes you can find. While you’re there, you just might find the perfect themed Halloween costume for you and your four-legged BFF.
