Whether you and your significant other are planning your first trip together or one of many, there is no better third wheel than your WingPet. If you thought traveling with your four-legged companion was going to be rough, start packing your bag because we found four pet-friendly accommodations that will make any tail wag!

Choosing a pet-friendly hotel

When planning a romantic getaway with your significant other, there are a lot of things to consider. And if your WingPet will be joining you, it’s important that they have as fetching of a time as you. Once you and your significant other have narrowed down the location for your trip, it’s time to reach out and make sure the accommodation is right for your furry companion. Before you book, check off a few essential questions to ask the hotel:

  • Are their pet fees per night, per stay, or per pet?
  • Are there breed, weight, or restrictions on the number of pets allowed?
  • Can pets be left unattended in the room?

If your WingPet is anything other than a dog, adventure cat mom Janelle has some important advice.

“When a hotel says pet-friendly, they might really mean dog-friendly,” says Janelle. “I always contact the accommodation first, explaining that our cats are harness and leash trained, how long they have been accustomed to traveling, and all of the necessities we will bring to keep them happy and the room in the same condition as when we arrived,” she also adds. Janelle recommends never to bring a cat, or other pet, to a pet-friendly hotel without asking first. You and your pet could be turned away at the door.
